(57) [Summary] [Objective] The purpose of the present invention is to determine the presence of amplified nucleic acid by detecting the presence of inorganic orthophosphate, which is a stable by-product of the amplification process. Compositions Provide useful detection systems that can be used in either solution or dry format. Preferably, a dry analytical element containing reagents suitable for generating a color signal in response to orthophosphate is used. The diagnostic test kit contains separately packaged reagents for both amplification and orthophosphate detection. |
