Of a microorganism having the ability to produce 1-benzyloxy-2-alkanol, for example, a culture solution of Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC13059, a bacterial body or a treated product of the microorganism, and an R-form of the 1-benzyloxy-2-acetoxyalkane. A method for producing an optically active 1-benzyloxy-2-alkanol, which comprises reacting with a mixture of S-forms and collecting the produced R-form 1-benzyloxy-2-alkanols. |
