titleOfInvention | Freshness-retaining agent for cut flowers |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Purpose] To provide a freshness-retaining agent for cut flowers, which allows the flowers to be viewed almost completely without wilting and even until the flowers are fully bloomed. [Structure] An aqueous solution obtained by adding water to a solution containing a guanidine salt compound and an alkali metal silicate is used as a freshness-keeping agent for cut flowers. For example, when a guanidine salt compound and sodium silicate are dissolved in water, sodium silicate reacts with water, and sodium silicate changes to sodium silicate containing a large amount of oxygen. It seems that sodium hydroxide is generated in the process. This sodium hydroxide shows strong alkali and suppresses the generation of bacteria. On the other hand, guanidine salt compounds directly prevent the oxidation of methionine and extremely suppress ethylene biosynthesis, and further add sodium hydroxide to add proteins, carbohydrates and cut flowers. It seems to prevent amino acids from being altered by sodium hydroxide. This makes it possible to obtain a freshness-retaining agent for cut flowers, which allows cut flowers to almost completely wither and to be fully bloomed for viewing. |
