abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide an industrial and inexpensive production method of cis-1-aminoindan-2-ol. [Structure] General formula (I) (X is a substituent capable of forming a carbocation at the 1-position of the indane skeleton by being extracted under acidic conditions, Y is a halogen atom) or general formula (I ′) The 1,2-disubstituted indans represented by [X is the same as the general formula (I)] or the cis-1,2-epoxyindane represented by the general formula (VI) (epoxy ring is cis configuration) is acidified. By reacting with a nitrile represented by the general formula (II) (R is a phenyl group or a lower alkyl group) under conditions, the compound of the general formula (V) (NH 2 ) is passed through a trans-amide derivative or a cis-oxazoline derivative. A cis-1-aminoindan-2-ol having a cis configuration in which the group and the OH group are present is produced. [Chemical Formula 39]
