(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A metabolic activator which is excellent in the action of promoting the metabolic activity of the skin and further excellent in safety, and an external preparation for the skin which has the action of improving the skin condition by blending the same. A bath agent is provided. [Structure] A steroid derivative represented by the following general formula (I) is used as a metabolic activator, and this metabolic activator is compounded in a skin external preparation or a bath preparation.
