abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a method for producing a composite material having excellent mechanical strength and heat resistance. In addition, a method for producing a composite material having mechanical strength and heat resistance superior to those of a resin as a matrix is provided. [Structure] Cation exchange capacity is 50-200 meq / 100 g of clay mineral and a swelling agent composed of an organic cation having an alkylene group having 12 or more carbon atoms and a carboxyl group are brought into contact with each other to form an ionic bond between them, and the monomer is melted at a temperature higher than the melting temperature of the monomer. A contacting step of forming a composite having a swelling property, a step of mixing the composite and a polyamide monomer, and a polymerization step of heating the mixture to a predetermined temperature to polymerize under the catalytic action of the swelling agent. And a method for manufacturing a composite material.
