abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Objective] To provide a method for producing aluminum nitride on an industrial scale. [Structure] A part of a powder mixture and / or a compact formed of metal aluminum powder and aluminum nitride powder is heated in a nitrogen-containing atmosphere to start a nitriding reaction, and the nitriding reaction of adjacent portions is chained by heat generated during the reaction. The present invention provides a method for producing a highly pure and fine aluminum nitride powder in a short time with good energy efficiency by accelerating the nitriding reaction to complete the nitriding reaction of the entire system in a short time. The aluminum nitride sintered body using the aluminum nitride powder composition according to the present invention is dense and has high thermal conductivity, and is suitably used for electronic circuit members and the like.
