abstract | PURPOSE:To prevent the abrasion of sliding parts due to the water content in the scavenging air by detecting the humidity in the scavenging air, and driving a lubricator when the humidity exceeds a set valve, and by lubricating the cylinder liner through additional lubricating holes arranged slightly above the scavenging ports. CONSTITUTION:In a marine two-cycle diesel engine, the lubrication between a cylinder liner 1 and piston rings 3 is carried out by discharging oil which has been introduced through lubricating holes 4... formed on the upper part of the cylinder liner 1 via lubricating rods 10. In this case, additional lubricating holes 41... are formed slightly above scavenging ports 5, and lubricating rods 101 are provided to the respective lubricating holes. Further, a dew-point instrument 30 for detecting the humidity in the scavenging air is fitted in the vicinity of the scavenging port 5. It is so contrived that when the humidity of scavenging air detected by a current detector 33 in which the output signal of the dew-point instrument 30 is input exceeds a prescribed value, a lubricator 81 is driven by a motor 60 via a control panel 34 to discharge oil through the additional lubricating holes 41.... |
