abstract | (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a kneading machine capable of increasing the kneading amount per hour, particularly a kneading machine suitable for producing high-quality toner for electrostatic image development. In a kneading machine in which a rotatable screw is provided in a barrel 12 to form a kneading section, a plurality of gates 14 capable of adjusting the opening degree of a material passage to be kneaded are provided in the kneading sections 2 to 8. In this case, when the length of the kneading portion from the supply port of the material to be kneaded to the discharge port 9 of the kneaded material is L, the gate 14a closest to the supply port is discharged to the position of 0.1L to 0.5L from the supply port.
