titleOfInvention | Optical fiber amplifier and optical signal transmission system |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide an optical fiber amplifier having a high gain and a low NF characteristic by doping an optical fiber having a specific structure with a rare earth element. [Structure] Excitation light from a 0.98 μm band semiconductor laser 102, which is an excitation light source, is incident on an erbium-doped absolute single polarization optical fiber 101 through a multiplexer 103. Further, the optical bandpass filter 107 transmits signal light, and the optical isolators 108 and 109 are installed to prevent oscillation. By using the erbium-doped absolute single polarization optical fiber 101 in this way, high gain and low NF characteristics are realized at low input. |
