[Structure] An antitumor agent containing chlorohydrin hepteridine acid represented by the formula (1) or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, and a microorganism capable of producing chlorohydrin hepteridine acid (in particular, a microorganism belonging to the genus Acremonium) are cultured, A method for producing chlorohydrin hepteridinate, which comprises collecting this from the culture. [Effect] An antitumor agent containing hepteridine acid hydrochloride has a high selective cytotoxic effect on human tumor cells even at a lower concentration than conventional chemotherapeutic agents. |
