Provided is a steel for etching process that can be manufactured. [Composition] By weight, Mn: 0.40% or less, Si: 0.40% or less, C: Steel for etching, which is excellent in pitting corrosion resistance, characterized by containing 1.5% or less, the balance being iron and unavoidable impurities, and having S as an impurity of 0.002% or less.
