At this time, the phase matching wavelength of the TE mode hardly changes, but the phase matching wavelength of the TM mode changes. The TM mode threshold gain decreases and becomes smaller than the TE mode threshold gain, and the TM mode light is output. Since the phase matching wavelength of the TE mode hardly changes before and after the voltage is applied to the electrode 113, the fluctuation of the output light intensity until the TM mode oscillates becomes small.
