(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a polycarbonate having excellent hue and thermal stability. In a method for producing a polycarbonate by a transesterification method, a polycondensation reaction is carried out using a catalyst system containing an alkali metal compound or an alkaline earth metal compound, a quaternary phosphonium compound, and a phenol compound, and after the reaction is completed. A phosphorus compound or a phosphorus compound and a phenol compound are added. [Effect] A polycarbonate having an excellent hue after polycondensation and after heating and melting and having good thermal stability is obtained. |
