(57) [Summary] [Objective] To provide a method for producing biotin, particularly an efficient method for converting desthiobiotin into biotin. [Constitution] A method for converting desthiobiotin to biotin in an enzyme conversion reaction system, which comprises adding flavodoxin to an enzyme conversion reaction solution, to convert desthiobiotin to biotin. Furthermore, the use of the flavodoxin gene provides a method for synthesizing biotin in a culture system and a resting bacterial system, and in particular, provides an efficient method for converting desthiobiotin to biotin. |
