[Structure] The liquid crystal element has a general formula (1): [In the Formula, X, m, and n are as described in the specification. ] A mixed film containing a liquid crystalline polymer represented by the above formula was sandwiched between a pair of base materials. In the first manufacturing method, the coating liquid containing the liquid crystalline polymer is applied onto one base material to form a mixed film, and the other base material is laminated. In the second manufacturing method, a mixture containing a liquid crystalline polymer is laminated between a pair of base materials. The third manufacturing method injects the above mixture between a pair of base materials.
