abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] To produce a fused neurotrophic factor by a genetic engineering method and to act on a proteolytic enzyme on the fused neurotrophic factor to obtain a mature neurotrophic factor. [Structure] Neurotrophic factor, particularly human nerve growth factor (hN GF) or brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), which has a DNA encoding a polypeptide chain, and has 8 amino acids at the N-terminal side of the E. coli tryptophan operon leader polypeptide at the 5 ′ end upstream of the DNA. Code D D coding for the recognition sequence of Factor Xa following NA A vector having NA bound thereto and further having an Escherichia coli regulatory gene upstream of the DNA encoding the leader polypeptide.
