(57) [Summary] [Structure] This invention uses (a) an organoaluminum component and (b) a metal having a reduction potential (relative to a hydrogen electrode standard) higher than -1.5 V, such as zinc or manganese. The present invention relates to a Ziegler-Natta type catalyst system suitable for producing an ethylene polymer containing a titanium trichloride component produced by reducing titanium tetrachloride with a reduced content of hexane extractable substances. [Effect] When ethylene is polymerized using the catalyst of the present invention, an ethylene polymer having a reduced content of hexane extractable substances is produced. |
