abstract (57) Summary: A method of recycling a material comprising a fiber mixture comprising cellulosic fibers, the method comprising: i) providing a fiber mixture comprising cellulosic fibers and fibers comprising a synthetic polymer; ii) subjecting these mixtures to microbial hydrolysis such that the cellulosic fibers are completely degraded. The method of the present invention makes it possible to separate and recycle a fiber mixture containing cellulosic fibers and fibers composed of synthetic polymers.
