(57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a coating method and a coating apparatus capable of forming a uniform coating film without being affected by vibration of the web due to non-contact support drying. An extruding type coating head disposed between at least a drying unit for performing non-contact support drying and a support roll closest to the upstream side of the drying unit has a back edge surface with a radius of curvature of 3 mm ≦ R ≦ 30 mm. An extrusion having an R surface shape having R and projecting the entire R surface shape portion of the back edge surface toward the web side from the tangent line drawn to the front edge surface at the slit side end point of the front edge of the coating head. A die coating head is used, and a coating liquid is applied to the running web by the extrusion die coating head, and then non-contact support drying is performed. |
