(57) [Summary] [Purpose] Stabilized biocidal water-soluble 3-substantially free of nitrosamine impurities and nitrosamine precursors Providing an isothiazolone composition. [Structure] An intermediate amide obtained by amidating a mixture of dimethyl-3,3'-dithiodipropionate and methyl 3-mercaptan propionate (nucleophilic scavenger) is cyclized with a chlorinating agent. 3-isothiazolone is formed and metal nitrate is further added as a stabilizer to give the desired 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazoline- A method for producing a 3-isothiazolone composition containing 3-one as an active ingredient. Effects: Nitrosamine impurities and nitrosamine precursors can be 110 ppm or less of the 3-isothiazolone composition. |
