abstract | (57) [Summary] [Structure] An aromatic dihydroxy compound, an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal base and a carbonyl halide under the two-phase interface condition of water and a water-insoluble organic solvent in the absence of a tertiary amine. A method for producing an aromatic polycarbonate in which an aromatic polycarbonate oligomer is produced from a compound and the oligomer is polycondensed in the presence of a tertiary amine, wherein the aromatic polycarbonate oligomer has a haloformate group of 15 to 15 per structural unit of the aromatic polycarbonate oligomer. Aromatic polycarbonate to which a tertiary amine is added under the condition of 0.1 mol% and the equivalent ratio of the haloformate group to the alkali metal or alkaline earth metal base is 1: 1.5 to 1: 5.5. Manufacturing method. [Effect] An aromatic polycarbonate having a small amount of nitrogen component taken up can be efficiently produced by using a tertiary amine without using a special reaction apparatus. |
