(57) Abstract: A method and solid dosage form for obtaining a controlled release formulation for oral administration having a coating of hydrophobic polymer dispersed water that is substantially stable to high temperature and high humidity during storage. A stable, controlled release solid dosage form having a coating obtained from an aqueous dispersion of ethyl cellulose is provided. Substrates with therapeutically active ingredients are overcoated with an aqueous dispersion of ethyl cellulose, which is then substantially affected by exposure of the coated dosage form to elevated temperature and / or humidity storage conditions. It is obtained by curing at a suitable temperature and relative humidity above ambient conditions until a stable melting pattern is obtained, which is such that it does not undergo aging. |
