abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] High quality beta barium borate single crystal (β -BaB 2 O 4 , hereinafter abbreviated as BBO) is grown by the pulling method. [Structure] When a BBO single crystal is grown from a BaB 2 O 4 composition melt by a pulling method, it is possible to make the growing interface downward convex by growing the (113) plane so as to have a crystal habit. Therefore, it is possible to suppress the generation of minute grain boundaries and grow a high quality single crystal.
