The printing paper P is passed between the counter roller 39 and the counter roller 39 which are arranged to face each other, and the surplus ink removing liquid layer a of the contact roller 37 is brought into contact with the print image surface of the print paper P to form a print image on the print image surface. The surplus printing ink of the printing ink b is transferred to the surplus ink removing liquid layer a, and the surplus printing ink is removed from the printing paper P.
