titleOfInvention Method of modifying low density polyethylene
abstract (57) [Summary] [Objective] To provide polyethylene having improved impulse fracture resistance. A method for modifying low-density polyethylene, which comprises dissolving low-density polyethylene in an organic solvent, and reprecipitating the obtained organic solvent solution of low-density polyethylene to obtain polyethylene. [Effect] The polyethylene obtained from the present invention has a high impulse puncture resistance as high as, for example, about 40 kV / mm or more as compared with untreated polyethylene. Therefore, it is extremely useful as an insulator for power cables for ultra high voltage.
