| abstract | (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Objective] To provide a method and apparatus that are small in size, consume little power, and accurately and quickly transfer visual and audio information from a master tape to a slave tape. [Structure] The master tape 10 is moved in a closed loop including a pinch roller, the slave tape 12 is moved in a closed loop including a capstan, and the master tape 10 is brought into contact with each other between the pinch roller and the capstan to provide a mirror image of magnetic information of the master tape 10. Are transferred to the thermomagnetic layer of the slave tape 12. The thermomagnetic layer has a Curie temperature at which magnetic information is destroyed at high temperature and information is transferred at low temperature. The thermomagnetic layer is heated to a temperature higher than the Curie temperature by a heater just before the capstan and thermally expanded.
