abstract | (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To provide a lightweight and high-strength friction material having excellent wear resistance and durability, having a stable friction coefficient, easy to manufacture. [Structure] After the carbon cloth 2 is adhered to the surface of the core plate 1, grooves or slits 3 are provided in the carbon cloth 2, and then the carbon cloth 2 is coated with an organic coating agent 4 containing a friction modifier, followed by heat treatment. And solidify. [Effect] The carbon cloth has excellent friction characteristics and, in addition, since it is in the form of a cloth, it has extremely high strength against forces in all directions. Grooving or slitting the carbon cloth can be performed easily and at low cost. The friction modifier is completely fixed and filled in the fine weave of the carbon cloth, and the coating layer becomes a uniform film to form the optimum surface as the friction material. Since the coating layer is a layer in which carbon cloth is used as a reinforcing base material, it has excellent mechanical strength and there is no problem of cracking or peeling. |
