abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] To obtain a phosphorus-containing polyester fiber having a high strength retention before and after dyeing, and a fabric made of the fiber. [Structure] A polyester fiber whose main constituent unit is ethylene terephthalate and which is obtained by copolymerizing phosphoric acid, phosphonic acid, phosphinic acid or a derivative thereof in an amount of 0.05 to 4.0% by weight as a phosphorus element, and having a strength before and after dyeing. Phosphorus-containing polyester fiber having a retention rate of 80% or more, cloth obtained from the fiber, and when dyeing them, keeping the pH of the dye liquor at 5.0 to 6.5, A method for dyeing a phosphorus-containing polyester fiber or fabric, characterized in that an amine acetate is present in the composition.
