abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a method for industrially and easily producing a resin having a fast reaction rate and an excellent color tone when producing poly (1,4-cyclohexylene dimethylene terephthalate). [Structure] Esterification is completed in producing a polyester comprising terephthalic acid having an acid component of 100 mol%, ethylene glycol having a diol component of 60 to 75 mol% and 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol of 25 to 40 mol%. A method for producing a polyester characterized in that a glycol-soluble cobalt compound is added before the completion of the esterification, and after the esterification is completed, a Ti-containing compound and antimony trioxide are added to cause a polycondensation reaction.
