titleOfInvention Fluoride glass optical waveguide
abstract (57) Abstract: (modified with) [Configuration] containing 2000ppm of Pr and 5 mol% of PbF 2, the concentration of the part of the raw material BaF 2 was replaced with BaCl 2 Cl 2~15mol% A ZBLAN-based fluoride glass having a composition changed by 1 mol% was melted and cast to prepare a core rod. The core rod was heated and stretched in an inert gas. A pipe for the clad portion was manufactured by melting ZBLAN fluoride glass doped with 40 mol% of Hf and casting it into a rotating mold. After inserting the stretched rod for the core portion into the pipe for the cladding portion, heating and integrating in an inert gas, and further stretching to produce a base material of the optical waveguide, which was drawn to obtain an optical waveguide. . [Effect] By substituting a part of fluoride with chloride, it is possible to provide a ZBLAN-based fluoride glass optical waveguide capable of obtaining a constant high gain in a wavelength range wider than the present state.
