abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus capable of forming a high-quality image by preventing uneven charging. An image carrier, a charging unit that charges the image carrier, a first electrical contact for electrically grounding the image carrier, and a second unit for applying an AC voltage to the charging unit. The electric contacts of the above are provided near the ends on the opposite sides in the longitudinal direction of the image carrier.
