abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] In a reversible thermosensitive recording medium and display medium utilizing the reaction between a color former and a developer, coloring and decoloring can be easily performed only by heating, and Reversible multicolor heat-sensitive that can maintain its color-developed state and decolorized state at room temperature, and can be used repeatedly many times because the color-erasing temperature is lower than the color-developing temperature, and that a full-color image can be obtained. A recording medium and a display medium are provided. Moreover, a recording method and a display method using the recording medium and the display medium are provided, and further, a recording apparatus and a display apparatus for realizing the recording method and the display method are provided. [Structure] A recording layer or an image forming layer containing a color former and a developer is provided on a support, and color is formed by heating and melting to form an image, and the image disappears by heating at a temperature lower than the color forming temperature. In a reversible thermosensitive recording medium or display medium which forms a decolored state, the recording layer or the image forming layer is composed of a plurality of layers or a plurality of types of microcapsules having different coloring tones and decolorization start temperatures.
