Ion detection method in ion trap mass spectrometer |
abstract |
(57) Summary An object of the invention is to provide a method of operating an ion trap mass spectrometer to distinguish between resonantly ejected and non-resonantly ejected ions. Is. The auxiliary AC electric field is superposed on the three-dimensional quadrupole trapping electric field, and the mixed electric field is scanned to resonately eject ions having a continuous mass-to-charge ratio. When the ejected ions are detected, the output signal of the resonantly ejected ions has a frequency component of the frequency of the auxiliary AC electric field. |
