(57) [Summary] [Purpose] To provide a ginseng extract and a beverage containing the ginseng extract which does not have an off-flavor like earth odor or mud odor as in the past even when the desired amount of ginseng, which is effective for nutritional tonicity, is contained. [Constitution] A ginseng extract extracted with a water-soluble solvent is brought into contact with activated carbon, and a method for purifying the ginseng extract and the ginseng extract obtained by the purification method are used to determine the ginseng-equivalent content. Beverage containing ginseng at 0.01 to 10.0 wt%. |
