Given, both vector and scalar XI requests are compared with their addresses stored in the vector store register elements. If there is a match in the VSR, any response normally supplied by the Scalar XI directory will be held pending until its vector storage register element receives a release signal from the vector processor indicating that the vector processor has terminated. This prevents the scalar processor from fetching invalid data. |
