titleOfInvention Polymer Ophthalmic Lens with Crosslinking Agent Containing Saccharide Residue
abstract (57) [Summary] (Modified) [Objective] To provide ophthalmic lenses, especially soft hydrogel ophthalmic lenses. The lens is derived from a crosslinked polymer produced by reacting a hydrophilic monomer with a crosslinking amount of a saccharide residue-containing polyfunctional compound. Hydrophilic monomers include a) the reaction product of a free radical reactive monoisocyanate with a monoalkylalkoxy polyalkyl ether, b) N, N-dimethylacrylamide, and optionally c) hydroxyethyl methacrylate. It's a mixture. Polyfunctional compounds are prepolymers derived from alkoxylated glucose or sucrose. A reaction product of a free radical-reactive monoisocyanate and perfluorooctanol is added to a reactive component that induces a crosslinked polymer. Polymerization is carried out with an inert diluent such as polyethylene glycol 40 It is carried out in the presence of 0 borate ester.
