(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To obtain a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and a fluorine-containing vinyl ether which has improved safety during production, solves the ozone depletion problem, and has mechanical strength and good moldability. [Structure] Using liquid carbon dioxide as a solvent, tetrafluoroethylene and the following general formula CF 2 ═CFOCX 2 Rf (I) (wherein Rf is F or a halogenated hydrocarbon group, X is H or F, and when Rf is F, X is F. Copolymerization is carried out in the presence of a radical initiator and a chain transfer agent in an amount of 0.05 to 30 mol per 100 mol of tetrafluoroethylene, for example, methanol and hydrogen. |
