abstract (57) Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a new and superior method and system for detecting microcalcifications in digital mammograms. Structure: A region of interest suspected of containing microcalcifications in a digital mammogram is selected (step # 1). 1), the background tendency is corrected (step # 12), and Fourier transform and power spectrum calculation are performed to perform detection in the frequency domain (step # 13). Regions of interest are quantified for input into a neural network trained to detect microcalcifications (step # 14). This neural network outputs the region of interest together with the detected microcalcification (step # 1). 6).
