abstract | (57) [Abstract] [PROBLEMS] To provide a porous membrane having a large number of fine and uniform through-pores, which can be applied to various filtration membranes, separation membranes, medical materials or battery separators having a through-pore structure. The polyethylene porous membrane of the present invention comprises a modified polyethylene modified with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or a derivative thereof, and a thermoplastic resin having a functional group capable of reacting with the modified polyethylene. A film made porous by stretching a blend having a sea-island structure as islands, in which a large number of fibrils are formed radially between the island components made of a thermoplastic resin with the islands as the center, and gaps between the fibrils.
