[Structure] Expression (In the formula, n is an integer of 10 or more.) A poly (pyridine-2,5-diylvinylene) polymer having a repeating unit. A conductive polymer obtained by adding an electron accepting or donating substance to the same polymer. The above poly (pyridine-2,5-diylvinylene) The polymer is (In the formula, R 1 and R 2 are C 1-10 alkyl groups, X is a halogen), and the compound is synthesized by elimination of a substituent of the polymer. [Effect] A conductive polymer capable of p-type and n-type doping is obtained. Furthermore, since the precursor polymer is soluble in a solvent, the obtained polymer is easy to form a film, and is used as a functional material such as a conductor, a semiconductor, an optical material, an antistatic material, a battery, a display element, or an issuer.
