abstract (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] To provide a liquid developer using a carrier liquid which has an appropriately low viscosity and vapor pressure to reduce the discharge amount of the carrier liquid at the time of fixing, and which has good charging characteristics and charge stability. Especially. [Structure] The carrier liquid in which the toner particles containing a resin and a colorant are dispersed is represented by the general formula R 1 -O (C n H 2n O) x -R 2 ( wherein, R 1 and R 2 represents an alkyl group, an alicyclic alkyl group, an aryl group or an arylalkyl radical, n Is an integer of 4 to 8 and x is an integer of 1 or 2) and one or more ether compounds are used. The composition ratio of the above ether compound in the entire carrier liquid is preferably 5 to 100% by weight. Further, in order to have appropriate insulation properties, viscosity, toner binder solubility, and low pour point as a carrier liquid, the total number of carbon atoms contained in R 1 and R 2 in the above formula must be 4 to 20. Is desirable.
