(57) [Abstract] [Purpose] A novel method for producing metal phthalocyanine and an electrophotographic photoreceptor using the metal phthalocyanine obtained by the method, which are capable of producing nuclear chlorinated impurities, metal-free phthalocyanine, etc. It is possible to produce a high-purity metal phthalocyanine that does not contain the impurities described above, and to produce a photoconductor having excellent electrophotographic characteristics. [Structure] A phthalonitrile is reacted with a metal alkoxide in the presence of a compound having a-(C = X) NH 2 group such as urea, an amide compound or a thioamide compound, or ammonia. An electrophotographic photoreceptor containing the metal phthalocyanine obtained by this synthesis method is constituted. |
