titleOfInvention Core-shell structure ABS copolymer and method for preparing the same
abstract (57) [Summary] [Purpose] In a core-shell ABS copolymer, the physical properties are improved by completely enclosing the butadiene core with a styrene-acrylonitrile shell. [Structure] Butadiene and styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) are functionalized to form chemical bonds and enhance the bondability between the core and the outer shell. In the first method of functionalization, SAN is functionalized with azide groups and reacted with olefin groups in butadiene. In the second method, butadiene is functionalized and reacted with acidic units such as maleic anhydride and SAN with epoxy units such as glycidyl methacrylate, respectively. Approximately 0.5 to 50% by weight of each component is functionalized Is. It is also applicable to similar formulations other than ABS.
