(57) [Summary] [Objective] An emulsion stabilizer of a cationic polyvinyl alcohol resin is produced by a relatively simple method, and the emulsion stabilizer is an emulsion-polymerized cationic polymer emulsion. And a method for producing an emulsion. [Structure] The following formula: [In the formula, R 1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aralkyl group, and may contain a hydroxyl group, a carbamoyl group, an ether bond or an unsaturated bond, and R 2 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms. X is an anion selected from a halogen ion atom, a sulfate group, a methosulfate sulfate group (methosulfate group), a methanesulfonic acid group, a phosphoric acid group, or a p-toluenesulfonic acid group, and m is 0. Or 1 and n is an integer of 1 to 6], the emulsion stabilizer containing a cationic polyvinyl alcohol resin having an acetalization degree of 0.1 to 40 mol% is an ethylenically unsaturated monomer. It is effective in producing a cationic polymer emulsion obtained by emulsion polymerization. |
