abstract | (57) [Abstract] [Purpose] When the catalyst layer is multi-staged and the catalyst regeneration step is incorporated to continuously produce durene, the composition of the outlet product is suppressed as much as possible and the outlet is always formed with a stable composition. Provided is a method for producing duren, which can obtain a product. A method for continuously producing durene by methylating xylene or pseudocumene or a mixture thereof using at least two reactors packed with a catalyst, wherein each reactor is operated at a predetermined reaction time zone. The operation is carried out by continuously repeating the catalyst regeneration time zone and maintaining the reaction stop time zone at an appropriate time zone within the reaction time zone. Further, the catalyst layer temperature at the time of transition to the next reaction time zone after the termination of the reaction time zone is adjusted to an arbitrary temperature. |
