abstract |
(57) Summary [Objective] To provide a method for reducing the internal surface polarity of zeolite having a ratio of alumina to at least 3 and an average pore inner diameter of 4 to 10Å. Composition Modified zeolites are prepared by heating the zeolite starting material in an aqueous medium having a source of acid or ammonium ions to at least partially dealuminate the zeolite, thereby heating the aluminum in the tetrahedral structure. A modified zeolite is obtained with an increased silica to silica ratio. At the same time, this method provides hydrogen ion exchange in a zeolite containing an effective amount of metal ions in the structure, replacing the metal ions with a small amount of hydrogen ions, increasing the water adsorption capacity of the zeolite. When a particular equilibrium state is reached between the reduced surface polarity on the one hand and the adsorption capacity of the zeolite on the other hand, a modified zeolite with an isotherm with a separation factor of 0.07-0.1 results. It is an ideal desiccant suitable for combustion gas air conditioning dehumidifier. |
