(57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a projection type liquid crystal display device capable of improving the light stability required for projection, and further having high contrast, and having high display performance. [Structure] A reflective liquid crystal device having a substrate structure and a liquid crystal layer facing each other, and using a vertically-aligned polyimide film as an alignment film, and rubbing the film to obtain a desired pretilt angle is manufactured. Then, a projection type liquid crystal display device is constructed by using the reflection type liquid crystal element manufactured as described above. |
