titleOfInvention Method for producing ketene dimer
abstract (57) [Summary] [Object] To provide a method for producing a ketene dimer in good yield, high purity and high productivity in the substantial absence of an organic solvent. A method for producing a ketene dimer from a fatty acid halide by reacting with a tertiary amine (used both as a reactant and a solvent / diluent), wherein at least 1.15 mol of the tertiary amine is used as a fatty acid halide. 1 mol and used in the substantial absence of additional solvent, whereby the ketene dimer produced is stripped of the tertiary amine followed by tertiary extraction by acid extraction. A method for producing a ketene dimer, which is obtained by separating generated crystals of an amine hydrogen halide salt.
