titleOfInvention | Process for the preparation of 7-substituted amino-3-hydroxy-3-cephem-4-protected carboxy-sulfoxide ester |
abstract | (57) [Summary] [Objective] 3-exomethylenecepham-4-carboxy-sulfoxide ester, which is used for the purpose of streamlining the production of cephalosporin antibiotics such as cefachlor, was not isolated, and the intermediate complex was used as acetic acid. The feature is that it can be ozonized in ethyl or methylene chloride. The intermediate, which is a complex of 7-substituted amino-3-exomethylenecepham-4-carboxy-sulfoxide ester and a tin-containing Lewis acid-type Friedel-Crafts catalyst, is reacted with ozone under substantially anhydrous conditions. To provide a corresponding 3-hydroxy-3-cephem-4-carboxysulfoxide ester. Since the complex of this reaction is also formed in the synthetic reaction in which 3-chlorosulfinylazetidinone is ring-closed with a tin-containing Lewis acid type Friedel-Crafts catalyst, the above-mentioned reaction can be continuously carried out. |
